Srushti began preparing for her UPSC examination in her third year of engineering studies. In her final year in engineering, Srushti Deshmukh questioned if she would be interested in working in engineering. In the following years, she realized that her passion was in civil service and began to concentrate on the field. Parents advised her to study for civil services and pursue it a profession serving the public. Her motivation was to be an IAS officer and was focused to achieve that goal. To be able to pass UPSC is a lot of work. When she was preparing in her engineering courses and other classes, she also used to prepare different subjects in UPSC. She allocated time for this exam preparation every day. Within a little over one month and a half it was time to prepare for her engineering exam and also stayed away from social media. She is convinced that focus is crucial to pass the government examination and be an official in the civil service. She made a lot of effort to ensure she passed the exam on her first attempt. Every day, she was reading the paper to stay updated with the current news. Rajya Sabha TV and online studying materials also proved to be a great help to her.
